Project Overview
Southcore Financial Centre consists of three interconnected buildings: two office towers and a premium 4-star hotel. The complex spans a full block in Toronto’s downtown core, and is integrated into the PATH network, which provides direct access to Union Station and the city’s extensive below-ground amenities. Southcore Financial Centre is notable for its sustainability features, includinga rain water collection system and deep lake central cooling, and the three-storey podium that joins the buildings has a rooftop urbanforest
enlivened by native species.
The three buildings are certified LEED SC Gold.
Project Highlights
We were proud to be part of the EllisDon team working on the
project. Guild provided all of the electrical
work for the three buildings, which included high and low voltage,
power, distribution, fire alarm, security, and lighting systems, and the
required generators.
PwC Tower
A 26-story, 671,000-square-foot office tower, with 3 levels of underground parking, and the first of the three buildings completed. Guild provided value engineering and systems integration support before and during construction.
Bremner Tower
A 30-storey, 700,000-square-foot office tower, also with 3 levels of underground parking. This building sits between PwC Tower and the Delta Hotel, and to accommodate differences in security and fire-alarm systems among the buildings, we provided integration services that led to cost savings. We completed all the electrical infrastructure for the base building, and in conjunction we performed fit-outs for Apple Canada, Starbucks, Amazon, Informatica, and several other tenants.
Delta Hotel
A 46-storey premium hotel with 567 rooms and upscale amenities. Guild was a Design-Assist partner for this project, and we completed all the electrical and communications work, including lighting control, the building’s fibre-optic backbone, and CCTV and other security technology.
